Arnold & Son continues to push the boundaries of fine watchmaking with the HM Steel Amber, a timepiece that seamlessly blends ancient, fossilized resin with cutting-edge horology. Limited to just 38 pieces, this extraordinary watch features a dial crafted from Baltic amber, a material formed through millions of years of fossilization. It’s warm, pale-yellow hue captures a piece of history, making each watch unique.
Sourcing the perfect amber for the HM Steel Amber was no small feat. The 1.6-kilogramfossilized resin used for this collection took months to procure, as every piece of amber carriesan element of risk—its true quality is unknown until cut and inspected. The master artisans at Arnold & Son meticulously extracted, shaped, and refined each piece, discarding any that didn’t meet their exacting standards. The result? A one-of-a-kind dial where no two patterns are alike. The natural striations and translucent depths of the amber complement the watch’s elegant aesthetic, enhanced by an ‘imperial green’ alligator leather strap, which subtly harmonizes with the amber’s organic warmth.
The HM Steel Amber is a study in simplicity. Without complications, the focus remains entirely on the exquisite dial, with only the hour and minute hands gracing its surface. Beneath this natural wonder lies Arnold & Son’s ultra-thin hand-wound movement, produced in-house at La Chaux-de-Fonds.
