This woman's timepiece is bright and beautiful, with both a heavenly 18k yellow gold case and bracelet that seamlessly mesh into a solid form. But don't be fooled, it does not contend itself to be only of solid gold, this fiddle plays many tunes. Carl F. Bucherer has also graced her with 116 TW vvs diamonds that wind around dial above the case, placing this watch to be the epitome of luxury.

We would like to share a lovely letter from Laurie Long, whose dreams came true this past month. She writes:

On Friday morning I packed my bags. He told me to bring something casual, something nice, and a swimsuit. I called it “destination unknown” because he wouldn’t reveal to me where we were going. That wasn’t the only thing I didn’t know… in a few short hours my life would change forever.

A classically trained artist in his own right, with knowledge of sculpture and painting, Bez Ambar brings this sensibility to his work. Bez strives to break the mold on traditional jewelry shaping and setting, moving towards the streamlined and proving that what seemed impossible can be miraculous. 

Not only is Bez responsible for the modern princess cut, swimming against the current of round and circle cuts, but he has helped to revolutionized the ascetic. By molding one end to another, the seams disappear, creating the illusion of endless glimmer. In order to not detract from the beauty of this sea of diamonds, Bez made this jewelry prong-less, naming it “invisible setting”. To keep challenging himself, Bez worked to compliment this same look with circle-cuts, naming this look “boundless”.

Beautiful Jewelry is a Language that we all speak and have been speaking for centuries. Outside of just being expressions of ourselves, our culture, our beliefs, our status, at it's base we love the beauty of a well crafted piece of silver and gold. That is a language that transcends time and space. For that reason Provident Jewelry would like to present a series of infographs to show that old is new again, titled A Century Between.

This feature is titled Eastern Influences, showing how artists have used geometry and curvilinear lines to create the most beautiful of pieces. All these seem to share the same feeling of rhythm and fluid symmetry. Spanning continent and time, the styles are surprisingly similar. As we continue to move towards abstraction, perhaps we aren't as far off from the past as we think we are. Enjoy!

When it comes to the paintings themselves, there is mystery that permeates the hyper-realistic, thickly shaped paintings. Behind the natural sensuality of languid poses is an electric current, pushing and pulling at the curiosity of onlookers. Intense colors pulsate and reflect among one another, seamlessly moving your eye from pint to point, in conflicting diagonals an lines. The compositions are challenging, where features are cut like a Manet. A head is missing, a body left beyond the frame, a set of legs disappear from one and end up in another. Swedish jewelry creator Shawish has made the first ring created entirely out of diamond. At 150 carats worth of the precious gem, this ring dwarfs all other diamond rings. Impressively and expertly shaped by traditional methods and lasers, the diamond is one singular, solid piece.

According to the President of Shawish, Mohamed Shawish, “It seemed impossible, so we decided to embark on the adventure of creating it. To create the perfect diamond rings is the epitome of art.” Being hailed as the “World's First Diamond Ring,” it has been evaluated to be worth $70 million dollars.

What made you want to go into the Jewelry Industry?

Alex: The jewelry industry had always intrigued me. I was curious about where gemstones originated from and how they were made.

The arts give a purpose to life, we are surrounded by it, imbibe it, reconstruct ourselves around it. Provident Jewelry, knowing that art is the spirit of the community, has donated a Lady's Bedat Watch to the Palm Beach Opera Guild, who promote opera and the like within our community.
Not only does the Palm Beach Opera Guild finance events through their fundraising, but they also help young singers find their voice with their Young Artist Program, and educate the community about this very important and international art form.

Baselworld, the Mecca for watch connoisseurs has given many fine timepiece companies the opportunity to showcase their newest releases, and announce their latest news. Among them is Breitling which just released that they will be offering a five year warranty on their “in house” movement watches. More details to arrive and Provident will keep you posted!
